"This is a dark time for Auran, we have had to down size in all aspects of the company. Trainz is still going ahead the current Team is Me (Aidan) Lead Programmer/Co-producer, James Moody Programmer/Community Manager, Megan Berry 2D/3D Artist. Rob will be back very soon we hope too. "

"Australian PC game developer Auran is facing financial difficulties and shedding many of its employees this Friday, Angry Gamer has learned.

This news comes only a few weeks after the release of their PC "PVP MMO", Fury, and Battlestar Galactica on Xbox LIVE Arcade. "Fury was a financial disaster, it lost Auran a lot of money", one anonymous source told Angry Gamer."

"Auran shuts shop
Australian developer of Fury goes into administration; all staff laid off.

A company insider--who refused to be named for this article--confirmed that administrators have taken over Auran Development, the parent company of all Auran companies (including publishing arm Auran Games). The administrators will meet with company creditors in a month's time to decide whether Auran goes into full liquidation or is restructured. Auran had close to 70 employees working at its Brisbane office. The insider confirmed that all staff will be paid for their work to date, plus all annual leave entitlements, redundancy payments, and long service leave.[...]"

"A few staff members have been re-hired under Auran Games to continue working on the current titles. This means for Trainz we now have a team of 3 people myself (Lead Programmer/Co-Producer), James Moody (Programmer/Community Manager), Megan Berry (2D/3D artist). We also hope to have Rob Shaw back on the team very shortly. But we have had to let go Lance and Alan and they will be dearly missed by both the community and the team team that remains.

Currently we are still working on Trainz Classics 3 and we still do hope to have this out early next year. The future after this next Trainz Classics is not as certain of yet with many talks going on between the team and management about were we go from Trainz Classic 3 but be assured that there will be another product.

Trainz will continue as long as there is a community to support the product, so this time now it is very important for the community to remain together."
